Celebrating is about sharing, telling stories, talking. It's about eating a piece of cake that a friend made for you, having a glass of wine or savoring a cup of coffee. It's that unknown sensation that doesn't let you get up from the table after eating. It's much more than just placing silverware and plates on a table, it's creating an ambience, a style, a sensation, an unforgettable memory.

The uncertain visit of Irene

It's been a crazy week in Florida with all kinds of disruptions. First, on Monday they announced a hurricane coming to Florida so I have been preparing for the worst with a positive attitude, hoping that nothing dangerous may come. With that in mind,  I prepared my house for the hurricane and secured the office regarding floodings or strong winds. Of course I got ready with supplies buying the right food, water, batteries, flash lights, candles etc.. I am still deciding whether or not to close completely the house with shutters, just because we have big glass windows everywhere. Not only did I have to worry about that, but to complicate things even more, the earthquake that was felt in NY caught my attention since my son who works on Wall Street was evacuated from his office thinking that it was a terrorist attack. Add to all this the revolving news of TIboli, my mind hasn't been thinking at all around taking pictures of food nor have I even written my Tuesday post. I just hope Irene doesn't cause any destruction and no living life will be affected.

I had my lunch from Chipotle yesterday while I was running from one place to another.  It is one of the decent food chains and a bit healthier option of fast food. Today the information regarding Irene threats is pointing only towards North East Coast, I think we all have to be prepared and I pray that nothing happens anywhere.

It looks like Irene is going to pass us Floridians by.....I didn't realize you lived in Florida....me, too! I'll have to try Chipotle - we have one near by, I've never been!

Thank you to all my dear bloggers for caring, we were lucky Irene didn't pass by Florida. I just told my son who lives in NYC to be prepared and I am just wishing it won't make any damage to the northeast or to any human beings..

Love your shoes, and love your attitude. Sounds like you have prepared as best you can. My parents are flying into Irene in the next few hours. Will be thinking of them so will throw a few prayers your way too.

Hurricanes are something we’ve never seen here in Holland so I can only imagine how frighten it is once it actually hits you. It seems like you are well prepared.

Ps: you look soooo young in the pics, can’t believe you have a (grown up) son!

Hi Lola! When I read this over heard this on the news, I could only think of one thing. It's scary to have to be prepared for such natural disaster. But it seems the world itself is on self destruction mode. I'm glad to know that you and your family are doing okay. Plus after reading that Washington had an earth quake, my mind just went blank too. Do take care my friend. Hugs, Jo
